Helping Louisiana National Guard Families Fight the War Against Cancer
The Wingman Cancer Foundation
The Wingman Cancer Foundation was founded by John and Crystal Larrieu. John Larrieu was diagnosed at the age of 29 with a rare testicular cancer. He had a large tumor surrounding his heart, and a tumor in each lung. John went through several rounds of chemo and surgery at MD Anderson to remove his tumor from chest and lungs. His wife Crystal and family came together to beat the odds and he is in full recovery. The couple wanted to give back and started the foundation to help Guardsmen of Louisiana. They understand the hardships associated with the cancer process and associated mental exhaustion.
The Wingman Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that helps support Louisiana Air and Army Guardsmen and their immediate family members battling cancer. Our primary focus is to provide emotional and financial support to alleviate the unique challenges faced by patients and their caretakers. We provide financial assistance to help them offset costs of physician visits, treatments, medications, lodging and transportation. WCF pays no employees and all time is volunteered.
